I Call This Place Home

So today, I decided to do another link-up. (I'm sorry, not really:)) Brianna over at Endlessly Beloved came up with this awesome one that will tell you a little more about me and where I come from.
Orlando
One // Disney World //  I love Disney (as you all have learned) and love that it is in my backyard. Nothing makes me happier then a Disney trip after work.

Two // Home of Tijuana Flats // Now, if you have not experienced Tijuana Flats, you are missing out. This small restaurant has grown into a chain and well its awesome (nothing else needs to be said, the food speaks for itself)

Three // Beach // The beach isn’t exactly in Central Florida, but it is a a short drive (about 45 minutes to either the east or west coast). I am not a beach person really, but I have to say sometimes I love to sit in the sun and relax.

Four // Hurricanes // Most people would not find this a great thing, but when you have dealt with about 10-15 storms in your life, you learn to embrace it. Can we say Hurricane Parties?

Five // Park Ave // I grew up in a suburb of Orlando, called Winter Park. It’s a small town (a 6 mile square) and downtown is one street (yup.. one street!) It’s really pretty to walk around and just hang out. Oh! They have my favorite wine place!!

Six // Shopping // We have a lot of malls in this area (and I love to shop) so basically any store, high end or not, we have it. Makes budgeting hard.

Seven // Weather // Actually, I complain a lot about this because it gets to hot in the summer, but in the winter and its between 60-70 degrees, I’m in heaven. So right now, I have about 2-3 more weeks of this glorious weather, until I hate it again.

Eight // University of Central Florida // I went to school there and graduated, which is a big feat since it took me 7 years.

Nine // My family // My family lives here. Although, I don’t see them often anymore (maybe like 3 times a month) its nice to know they aren’t that far away.

Ten // Traffic // Most people would hate this (and actually I do too when I am stuck in it) but it keeps me in a job and Orlando has a ton!

Hummmp Dayyyy!!

It’s Wednesday!! Hump day!!

Okay enough of that…

Today is going to be short and sweet because I am working on making this site look awesome and because I am slammed at work (stupid winter weather, messing up all the traffic).

Yesterday, we finally showed my parents Boyfriend’s new car. This made me very nervous. You see, I sold the Fucus without telling them first. When I did tell them, they were not mad. Super stoked about that. But we drove it over there, and showed them. They loved it and it was all sunshine and butterflies (what the hell was I nervous about?)

So there is this big winter storm coming through the panhandle and the state of Florida. It is causing major delays and wrecks. Basically causing my work to be crazy. I will update with how that goes tomorrow.

Yeah, short and sweet and to some kind of point.

Out With the Old and In With the Used

Happy Tuesday!! So I know I am a day late on posting about my weekend.. but who cares? I make the rules around these parts…

So what happened this weekend? All I can say, is I feel really poor but don't we all after we have a really big purchase, think like A CAR purchase. Yes, Boyfriend and I are now proud owners of a 370Z. I actually really like the car, but I will never drive it (I can't drive stick, and according to Boyfriend, you can't have an automatic sports car.. who knew?)

Well, let me start at the beginning, beginning of the weekend that is. On Friday, Boyfriend and I went and got a grill, a really nice grill. I know this doesn't sound exciting, but it is. We have been looking at grills for 3 months and finally decided on one (thank god!) So we got home and Boyfriend made us steak and I cooked the side dishes. It was delicious, and you would be salivating over it if I took a picture of it (which I didn’t). After our delicious meal, we hung out and went to sleep early (I wake up at 5am every morning for work).

On Saturday, we had hair appointments. Yes, Boyfriend even had one (we go to a place that has a barber shop and salon, so he still feels manly). It always nice to have your hair did. Well on our way there, Boyfriend proceeded to tell me about how his friend has been looking for cars for him (he works at a dealership, ironically the dealership I bought my car but we didn’t know that at the time, which sucks) and found him his dream car. I being the ever so supportive girlfriend that I am, said lets go look at it later that day. So after we looked fab (yes, I did just said that) we were looking for something to do, so I said lets go look at the car. Boy, did I regret those words quickly. So we went to the dealership, hung out with his friend and looked at the car. Boyfriend is like I doubt I will get approved so this should be a quick trip. Yeah, not so much, he did get approved and for an amount that is a reasonable payment. He was ready to sign on the dotted line that night and I said we are going home to think about this, because we were not making a decision like this on the fly. We went home and talked it out, and talked and talked and talked (and yelled a little bit). The decision was not made that night and we went to bed angry (which we vow to never do). We woke up the next morning (or in my case, the sun came up and I was still awake) and talked it out some more (and of course yelled some more) and decided to go back to the dealership and see if we can work something out. But at that point, I was about 99 percent sure that we were walking away with a new car. I just wanted to make the best deal and not have to pay to much (which doesn’t everybody?)

At the dealership, everyone kept congratulating us on our new car. I am thinking “What new car? I have not purchased a car!” Well, the sales guy could not get us the deal we wanted and we were ready to walk. Until Bill came. Bill is one of the finance mangers who works at said dealership. He helped me buy my car a couple months ago. We bonded with Bill when we purchased my car (us Jews tend to stick together) and told us he would do the best he could and try and help. And help he did. He made it happen for us. So the decision was made and Boyfriend was getting a new car. We are now a Nissan family.

We sold the old car, the Fucas as I commonly refer to it and got a new used car. I was happy and sad to see the car go. It was my first car and we have been through some crazy times together. I had my moment with it and watched it drive off (it was a perfect movie moment) and now it going to the parking lot in the sky (actually, I am not sure where it is going but in my mind it’s going to car heaven). Out with the old and in with the new (used).
